Protect Your Car If You Park Outside
Ideally, it’s great if you have a garage for parking. Cars are made to withstand the elements of Mother Nature, but there are things you should do to protect your vehicles interior and exterior finishes.
Daily
Do not part your vehicle under any trees. We know birds like trees, and they tend to poop while in them, so let’s not let that land on your vehicle. Trees also have sap, pollen and falling debris that can land there as well.
Use a windshield sunshade. These protect your vehicle interior from UV rays & high heat that can damage the auto interior.
Bi-Weekly
Wash Your Car Every Other Week – Since you are parked outside, your vehicle is open to the elements constantly and you want to remove the debris that can damage the exterior.
Monthly
Wax your vehicle. Waxing your car adds an extra level of protection. Carnauba wax is easy to apply, and you can purchase wax that also has UV protectants for an additional layer of defense. Waxes can last two to four months, but if you are parked outside, it will wear off faster. That is why waxing monthly is preferred.
Be sure to apply trim protectants to exterior plastics, rubber and moldings. Apply interior protectants to the dashboard and leather upholstery.
Yearly
Consider a sealant or ceramic coating. This applies a longer layer of protection for your vehicle’s exterior.
